12 reasons for leaving a Job?
1. Bad Management
Bad
Management or miss-management is one of the most common reasons for employees
leaving their jobs even before their appraisals. In some companies, the reports
are not given precisely by the middle & lower management to the upper
management.
When this happens, the upper management makes some stringent rules
and decisions that surprisingly affect the employees. Here, in this situation
due to the incorrect decisions that were taken by upper management, the
employees have no more options but to resign.
2. Low Salary Growth
Some companies have the policy to provide monthly and weekly perks &
performance certifications to the employees for encouragement and motivation
which is a positive aspect. But the companies need to understand that by seeing
those certificates employees are not getting the discounts on their EMI instalments
and household expenses.
If you want to buy a vegetable then, there is no
concession on the employee certificate. These companies are providing low
salaries to their employees confusing them with other social activities in the
corporate world.
3. Office Politics
Have you guys ever heard the concept of grapevine? Well, Grapevine is
the person selected by the team leader who is a part of his team and informs
every update on his team's behavior. This is then followed by the other members
discussing and murmuring about individuals. Partial behavior of a boss in providing a promotion to the imperfect
person is also seen as a part of Office Politics. Employees get frustrated
& annoyed by these and then they decide to move on and resign.
4. Feeling of No Appreciation:
Employees should be appreciated for there better performance. All they are looking for are some kind words that they did well. No award can stand in comparison of the appreciation. Sometimes employees get frustrated by situations when they feel they are
underestimated in terms of performance. The feeling becomes so intense after
some time employee resigns from the job stating a reason, he is leaving a
career for a better opportunity in this field.
5. Constantly Changing HR Policies:
Companies HR's job is to hire new candidates, and look after the
employees if they are adhering the company's policies or not. But sometimes the
Company HR has to change the policies that are not good for employees. When these
employees review the company's history of Lay-Off Policy, the employees may
decide to resign.
6. Lack of Employee basic needs:
Basic things like food, Water and Air are most important for a human
being to survive. Some Private firms running a proprietorship business in
Crores don't even like to spend a little amount of their penny for employee
benefits. Employees dealing with these types of situations shouldn't be working
on these types of companies. Pity for them!
7. Need a Big Holiday/Break:
Some employee leaves their jobs just for the sake of the holidays. Yes,
this miracle, it happened here in India, when one of my colleagues resigned
from the job just because his holiday request was not sanctioned. He was an
important asset for the team, so he was called again by HR in the company.
8. Self employed/Freelancing:
Some people leave their jobs and become a freelancer. A freelancer is a
person who enjoys the freedom to work at home for the companies. While some
employees try to earn after the job and so they decide to do some extra work.
9. Startup a new Business:
Employees quit their job if they realize that they have no future in
their existing job. Employees at certain period of time feel that now they are capable of starting there own business & think that they no need to work under anyone. They resign to start a new business on their own and earn to maximize their profit and acquiring their goals of life.
10 Lack of own Skills:
Some employees try to accommodate themselves in a job that isn't meant for
them. But after sometimes, they realize that they lack the skills for this job.
Knowing, that no one will be teaching them the process for the job they think that have no
option but to resign. But employees should talk with there seniors and try to find out the solution on this issue.
11 Extended Sick Leave:
Employees have to leave there jobs when they remain sick for a longer period. Some company policies are made in such a way that the company should not get affected by any individual employee's leave.
12 Company Layoff
Layoff is permanent termination or temporary suspension of an employee not caused by the fault of the employee but Company layoffs are not common now a days. Big companies Layoff there employees if there overall sales is down or if company is out of financial funds to pay the employees. Company's Lay-Off policies affect the financials of the employees.
