Health Precautions to be taken during Monsoon Season

Health Precautions to be taken during Monsoon Season

Be Prepared & Use Umbrella:

Precaution is better than cure. Yes, justifying this statement I would recommend carrying an umbrella while you are travelling in monsoon because even though it's not raining in your area you will never know when the raining will surprise you. I
f you don't have enough space in your bag, then you can carry small folding umbrellas with you.

Keep Your Home Clean:

Cleanliness is the most important aspect that can secure your health throughout the year. If you ask me, a clean home replicates heaven on earth. But in monsoon season the atmosphere is moist, which is why if the room is untidy and if there is dust in corner areas smells badly.

Get Rid of Mosquitoes & Flies:

Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water that gets stored in open containers which are often ignored. Shut the water containers with their lids.

Check if the Mosquitoes & fly repellent sprays are available in your cupboard. It is very important to fight Mosquito borne-disease like Dengue & malaria. This disease can be very dangerous and can take human lives without proper medication.

Keep Your Medical Kit Ready:

How many of you have a first-aid box in your homes? I'm Sure, many of you have them, but if the supplies in the kit are running out of quantity fill them up. Sometimes we get heavy rains in our area causing flood situations.

If someone from your home gets hurt or sick, you need to go out walking in the floodwater to find a medicinal shop & buy a medicine. Things get worse when you reach near by the shop & find that it is closed due to heavy rains. Fever & Cold tablets should be used as per the recommendation of your doctors.

Avoid Wearing Wet Clothes:

Buy some extra pairs of formal shirts & trousers. If you have an urgent office meeting to attend & your clothes are still wet you can use them. You can get bacterial rashes on your body & there are pretty much chances of getting sick.

Stay away from contagious disease:

This one is difficult & might feel rude, but I must say that avoid close contact with the person that has a viral fever. Remember, you can only take care of others if you take care of yourselves first.

Boil Water From Water Purifiers

Even though you have an water-purifiers your home or office, it is very important to boil the same water before drinking.

Rain water borne rainy season more bacteria's are  from animal litter & other dangerous things mixed in them. You are not sure water purifiers.

Avoid Drinking Cold Water:

Avoid drinking cold water in monsoons as this can affect your throat and might eventually trigger the alarming situation of getting cold or fever.

Avoid Street Foods:

If you are a foodie then I can only try to convince you to not to eat street foods. Some street vendors do not maintain cleanliness around their shops. Most of the shopkeepers can't afford water purifiers because of which they use dirty water to make our delicious street foods. The Bottom line is we are not sure where are they getting water for making the street foods. But as I said previously, why take risks.

Green Tea/ Lemon Tea:

Have a lemon tea or green tea in the morning can soothe your mind & boosts your body metabolism making you ready for the rest of the day.
